Veterinary Technicians
Cassie Amato has been a veterinary assistant at Amador Valley Veterinary Hospital since 2008. She joined the staff as an intern while in high school and has been a member of the team ever since. She loves working with animals and enjoys working with the friendly, open-minded staff and learning new things about pet care. In her spare time, she breeds and shows livestock for Future Farmers of America and has won the FFA's Supreme Champion Grade Heifer Award for her livestock breeding efforts. She shares her home with a puppy named Moose, a Boxer named Cinch, and a cat named Ellie. She enjoys reading, four-wheeling and spending time with her friends when she's not at work or at school.
Karolina Rosas has helped care for pets as a veterinary technician at Amador Valley Veterinary Hospital since 2008. She is in the process of applying for her veterinary technician license. Karolina also has completed all of her coursework for her Bachelor's of Science Degree from Dominican University, and she plans to apply to veterinary school in 2010.
Karolina loves working here because of the caring staff and veterinarians. The staff members are positive and friendly and the veterinarians are always willing to educate everyone new things about animal care, she says. She spends her free time hanging out with friends and going to the movies. She can often be found outside exercising with her dog, Mia, or on the soccer field playing in a local adult women's league.
Veterinary technician Melinda Turner has helped care for pets here since 2009. She has advanced training and experience in emergency medicine. Melinda enjoys working with the professional, knowledgeable, and respectful veterinarians, and she loves pets. Her animal companions include a French Bulldog named Belvedere, a Siamese cat named Sebastian, a bearded dragon named Sancho, and a chameleon named Trogdor. On the weekends, she enjoys relaxing and spending time with family and friends. Some of her favorite activities include going to ethnic restaurants and seeing new movies.
